The Daily Gratitude Minute - Happy Thanksgiving

This is Scott Colby from Say It With Gratitude.  Welcome to The Daily Gratitude Minute.  This is the very first episode!  And it just happens to be Thanksgiving in the United States.

It’s a great day for me because It's my first time I'll be celebrating Thanksgiving with my family in Virginia in the past  20 years.

You see, in the last 20 years, I've lived in Dallas (11 years) and Denver (9 years).

Since Christmas is so close to Thanksgiving and I didn't want to pay for 2 plane tickets, I always chose to visit my family at Christmas, and to stay put at Thanksgiving.  Yes, being an entrepreneur, I sometimes need to watch my money.

But in September of this year, I moved to Knoxville, Tennessee and  now that I live in Knoxville, which is only a 4 1/2 hour drive to my parents house in Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia, I was able to drive home to be with them.  I’ll be coming back for Christmas too!

This was one of the big reasons I moved back East - to be able to spend more time with my family.

So as you sit down to your big meal, think about all  that you have to be grateful for. And really think about your values in life and whether you’re living by them.  For me, family is one of my top core values, and that made it an easier decision for me to move back East.a I’m truly grateful for my family.  What are you grateful today? Think about that and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

  • Congratulations on making the decision to move back East. Family is important. This gratitude minute is an amazing idea. I’m having friends and family over for dinner tonight. God bless you and your family and thank you for making us a part of yours.
